Have you ever used any? Twallan created several with the Careers Schools mod so I'm wondering how you get on with them.

I've never used any, no, but I'm thinking of making a separate "ballet" career apart from your "dance", and I'm thinking about making the first four or five levels either part-time or a custom school, so that teens can do it. I'm not sure how to link this new "teen career" to the adult career though, as I don't think there's a way to give a job prerequisites so only sims who meet certain requirements are eligible for them?
I mean, knowing what I know about ballet, it seems unrealistic and weird to me to have anyone be able to just start, and start as an adult, at that. Then again, I suppose this is the game where one can become a doctor without any training whatsoever (that's also on my list of careers to "fix" / make over), and that makes no more sense.

Your ideas are definitely doable! (Welcome to the forum, by the way! ) It'd probably be easier to do a custom teen career (like my Apprenticeships) which can be linking to the adult counterpart. I mention is briefly here but by using Twallan's Omni Career scripting class, you can use the <TransferCareer></TransferCareer> and put the Adult Career GUID in there. That links the teen career to the adult. My apprenticeships use this feature so you can always open one of them up if you want to see the code itself. I'm not sure whether the custom schools would have this capability but it's always worth trying! For a prerequisite, it is possible to add skill prerequisites for careers. So maybe using the hidden dance skill could be a possibility? Was there a proper dance skill with the dance barre from the Store? If so, that could be a handy prerequisite. Especially if you used it as Metrics for the Teen career, then set it to Level 5 as the prerequisite. Could be useful to play around with!

I didn't think of using Twallan's script, though I did consider looking at the code for your apprenticeship feature. Thanks for the tips, encouragement, and the welcome! Dance IS an actual skill that comes with the Store item! (It even has its own little icon... a pair of black jazz dancing shoes!) It doesn't serve much function in-game, and mostly just determines how good your sim looks when s/he is going through the barre animations, but as a career metric, it is more than adequate. I don't particularly see why custom schools shouldn't have this capability. That is also something I will look into. I think I will start a new thread on the WIP board, actually, because there are a whole lot of options that I am struggling with in the planning stages, and I really would like some feedback.
