I *wish* Sims would change underwear that often, lol. NRaas SP is impossibly heavy on my computer although I love that it has coding that keeps the overall townies under a specific limit or that it ensures sims give birth as well, not just have orgies whenever and wherever the mood strikes them!
Yes, there is precious little familial inter-connection in Sunset Valley. The elevators in Bridgeport cause my game to crawl so I avoid it unless I want to go from building to building to remove both the elevators and the NPC only apartments (which is something I always did in Sims2 as well), so I never played long enough to find out who is related to whom. I know sims are better connected in Moonlight Falls, my other favorite map, but just one generation in, they ignore that fact and they hit it off with the incest and cross-species pairings. Love the town and the big lots, hate the unplayable beach, creeped out by the incest! Just imagine what a sex mod would do there!!
Hehe, we all do! I think my problem with the opportunities as a whole is that my level of understanding the coding isn't exactly high (anymore) and that with each opportunity being fairly unique/customizable, it's difficult for me to say "this part of code does this, that part does that and as a whole they do that", unlike career modding. That's why I wanted to do the simple thing first and take a pre-made opportunity, add it to my working career, see how it goes. Then once I had that step down, I could go on creating new opportunities. That's how I first began career creating. I'd find a custom career I liked, changed it a bit to fit my game and then I stumbled on your tutorial here and flew from there.

For simple things, like changing underwear, they need to have their hands held in Stylist while we change their underwear for them. at your orgies though. I actually set Woohooer to allow autonomous woohoo, risky woohoo and try for baby off the active lot the other day. Sunset Valley is now in the midst of a baby boom The Beau and Victoria Andrews are having a baby and so are Gunther and Cornelia Goth, Boyd and Susan Wainwright, Dustin and Iliana Langerak and Marty and Justine Keaton. And those two had a baby right at the start of the game. Needless to say, I toned down the autonomous try for baby. But it was a form of Story Progression, you can't deny that! I never used to play Bridgeport much, for all the same reasons. But a better laptop has equalled better performance in game. In spite of its issues though, I think it has got the best inter-familial connections of any town. Not played in Moonlight Falls enough really, to be honest. I think because I get a bit control-freakish over their couplings. I just don't think that werewolves and fairies would couple up naturally. They seem kind of...opposites You do still have an element of that with the opportunities, to a degree, but I do understand that. Yeah, when you've got time, send it over and I'll take a look for you. It probably is something really tiny

Yeah, when you've got time, send it over and I'll take a look for you. It probably is something really tiny The sad thing is that technically my computer can play the game, yet too-big mods or glitchy hoods/objects that are a bit off, cause problems so I tend to stick with simpler mods while avoiding objects that I know are problematic, like the elevators. They only allow one sim (woohoo aside) and they're hardly fast so if a world is filled with them, they take their toll on my computer. It's easier if I just remove them and put stacks of staircases instead (that can be used by multiple sims per level unlike the elevators). That's what I call baby boom! Just be glad all kids have their own parents. In my game they'd be so interconnected (since my sims seem to dislike having more than one child with the same spouse/partner) that 2 generations in, I expect them all to be cousins . Moonlight Falls is a little too influenced by TV shows, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, I like the in-jokes of the names of sims or the lots, but yeah, when it comes to couplings you can easily see which show inspired which relationship. You know, a trait signifying attraction to supernatural race would be useful there. Have vampires being attracted to other vampires and/or naturally dislike werewolves. Take the "supernatural fan" trait and specify it, in a way. Sims2 was better in that, even though it only had 3 slots for likes/dislikes, you could avoid cross-species relationships if you wanted to.

Your elevators only allow one sim at a time? They're supposed to take more than that! I've had about five in an elevator recently with no problems. I was finding that with Nraas Story Progression. Couples would get together, have a baby then split up and on to the next relationship. It made my head spin. Yeah, Moonlight Falls was very influenced, wasn't it? I agree, we could do with the Supernatural Fan being a bit more specific.

They've always allowed one sim at a time. They're supposed to allow more? That's news to me. Last time I fired up Bridgeport I had a household of three wanting to leave the building via elevator and they queued in line one at a time. Almost one sim hour passed by the time they all made it to the ground floor (and I was pulling my hair in frustration). After that I resorted to teleporting sims in/out of buildings until I had enough of the world... Now I wonder if maybe some mod messes with them in some way. I'll have to go over my mods to see what's what. I did a big clearout in the summer of mods I never use, guess it's time to go through the rest!
Heh, I know people find their worlds coming alive with NRaas SP, but to me it's a huge strain. The only things about it that I definitely want to find alternatives for is that they limit the people/pets overhead by however much I want to (perfect if I want an overall fairly low number to keep the game smooth) and that sims pair off and have babies at a good enough rate so my sim children always have classmates.
I don't know if other worlds were so influenced, but Moonlight Falls is a bit glaring. Roaring Heights is as well but that is part of the theme.

Yeah, they should be able to hold more. I'll try and get a picture for you later. I had a mod clear out myself a few months ago - then found a new lot and installed those! I uninstalled the Global Banking mod when I realised it doesn't stick when you switch households. I was really irritated. I might drop Sandy a line actually. I'm pretty sure she uses that mod and she switches households all the time. Never played Roaring Heights. I've only got it for the care really and that's only because I'd like to try and convert the Sims 2 car using the Roaring Heights one as a base. Finger's crossed!

T1gerCat Here you go: It looks like maybe you have got a mod that's interfering with the elevators. Hope you can solve that!

From just looking at my mods folder I don't have one that should interfere with elevators but I'll check them one by one to see if it's a minor part of one and I never noticed when installing them.
I don't even know what Global Banking is so I guess I'm safe, lol! I don't have a lot of mods because some are either too cheaty for my liking or I just don't care for extra fine tuning of the game, in a way. I mostly gravitate towards mods that fix things I find stupid (as in only having 2 professional bars but a crapton of "juice bars", really? so I grabbed a mod that makes all juice bars able to switch into professional bars mode - side bonus is that the game doesn't generate a lot of mixologists that do nothing but take up resources).
I love the 20s as a decade but I admit, modern school buses and taxis (let alone cars for the townies) or townie sims suddenly wearing modern clothes gets annoying. I like the map though and if I were any good in CAW (or even manage to get the program to install) I'd lightly change a few things to my liking and make it my main world. I love the car and I love that it's a throwback to Sims2 cars! I always give it to my main family just for the woohoo option!

Maybe it's just one that does something to the routing? Or it could be a game quirk? Ooh, the Global Banking mod by Digitalchaos. I love it, it's great for nerdy players like my good self It's a pity it wasn't working with rotating households because it's one of my favourites! I tend to go for mods that will add something interesting. Things like allowing Teen bands, that kind of thing. Something that will enhance the game and make it a little bit more realistic. I think I'd get more into the themed worlds they made if there was more to actually make them themed. Like you say, modern school buses and taxis don't really fit a 20's themed world any more than they do a medieval/fantasy world (Dragon Valley). It seems daft, really.

I use the fixed worlds by EllaCharmed (such a lifesaver!). I'll try loading up a game on the original world to see how they go.
Teenage bands... Now I admit, I never thought of that. Which mod allows that and why wasn't it included in the game? See, that's something I consider stupid enough to require fixing (granted, I never played with a band so I never noticed it missing, but still).
I know, right? It's like they completely forgot that the game allows public transportation when they made up their theme worlds. If they can go into the detail of faux skyscrapers and hood-themed rabbitholes, why not go all the way and makeover the public transportation too and code that the townies and NPCs would get the one oldie car in various recolors instead of modern (or worse, futuristic) cars?

Good luck! I wouldn't have thought that would mess the elevators but you never know, eh? I use the Teen Band Redux. You can trigger the gigs with Master Controller because they won't come up for teens. The main downside to this is that it looks like it's interfering with the vampires a bit but if you don't play them, you should be okay. I know, the teens would really have benefitted from this when Late Night first came out! I don't know what they were thinking by excluding them from that. It makes you wonder how much effort was put into those Store worlds really, doesn't it? I mean, the clothing and transportation was properly coded for Into the Future. Oasis Landing doesn't generate the modern-day cars, only futuristic ones, so how hard could that have been for Store ones? Maybe it was a budget thing?

The only thing I can think of being different enough is that Oasis Landing is an expansion while both Roaring Heights and Dragon Valley are store worlds. Store worlds are supposed to work even with only basegame installed but still, it's a glaring omission to forget to code in the cars/buses. For that matter, I believe that since there are no schools in Oasis Landing, it doesn't generate the school bus either.
I have a vampire mod (or a collection of vampire mods, lol) but yeah, I'll try it out anyway since I only load supernatural mods when I want to play with supernatural sims.
Teens are a bit confusing, aren't they? The game wants them to be short adults with careers on top of their schoolwork, yet they it allow them the fun parts of being an adult. I'm not sure if it's a mod (I do have a lot of career mods!) or not, but I think teens can be self employed with professions too. I had a father/son ghostbusting ring and it was amusing to see the game going nits with the teen being outside past curfew while casually generating ghosts for him.

Yeah, most likely. Still frustrating all the same, especially if you want to play a Medieval or historical game and have to mod the daylights out of the game to make it work the way you want to. I have updated the mod for my own use to make it compatible with most vampire mods. If you wanted it, let me know. I'm pretty sure I used to have a mod to allow them professions That's why I made the Saturday jobs for them. I couldn't stand how stressed they got trying to keep on top of homework as well as a part-time job every night after school. It seemed so...ridiculous, I suppose.

There are two flavors of that mod, one should leave vampires alone but sure, if you have it handy, I'd love to have it. I assume it's still compatible with 1.67/1.69 if you're using it, right? One of the joys of converting to Sims3 after it was nearly finished as a game is that I never had to worry about compatibility, lol.
That's partly why I prefer futuristic settings rather than historical ones. With futuristic, you can explain the "old" things as someone being into antiques or that the city likes using the old buses because they still work. But with historical settings, it's way more difficult to explain a "futuristic" school bus or various cars for the townies. Then again I'm guilty of having my sim in a 20s setting going about in jeans...
I know my teen sims can have professions right now but I'd be lying if I remembered it being the cause of a mod or not. I love your Saturday jobs exactly because they allow them to be teens, hang out with their friends/families, stay on top of schoolwork and still make some money. Some, like your Babysitting or Tutoring, I have tweaked to allow more days (the classic Friday-night-parents-date or an hour after school for tutoring) but that's a personal thing, for my game only.
Speaking of realistic gameplay, is my game glitching or does Sims3 not know the concept of carpooling? I was testing one of my careers and I had 2 different carpools arrive for the 2 sims even though they were the same career level and worked the same hours.

Check your inbox Yeah, I must admit I've enjoyed playing around with futuristic more than I thought. I thought I'd never like Into the Future but it's actually quite fun. With my fantasy style games these days, I just invent my own fantasy genre. They have both historical styles of clothing and objects but also modern and futuristic. A fabulous blend of everything on offer Ooh, I'll have to look around. Mind you, I hardly use the professions for the adults, never mind the teens I like the sound of your edits! I might do the same for myself Erm, I had two sims carpooling in my Career Test game the other day. So I'm thinking possibly a mod? I'm not sure, it can be so temperamental sometimes.
