Hi there! I stumbled upon this forum and thought it was an awesome idea! With the whole car enthusiast trait on TS3, it seemed odd to me that there aren't really many vehicle-related careers. Since I've been into racing games lately, I think it would be great for a track racing career to be in-game.
Automotive Track Racing Career
Skills Required: Handiness, Logic, and a very light Athletic component (like getting to level 6 by career level 10 in order to simulate endurance needed for racing).
Location: Stadium
Progression: Improving skills, good mood, relationship with boss (Whose title could be "Racing Manager"). From level 5 onward, attendance of events.
Interactions: Default interactions (i.e. business as usual, work hard, talk to Racing Manager, etc.). From level 5 onward (if possible), you could do "Time Trial" for Logic skill increase and "Maintain Vehicle" for handiness skill increase on the job. (If Athletic skill is incorporated, maybe "Endurance Race" to increase athletic skill).
Misc. Information: I would like the salaries to be the same as the sports career levels. Ideally, like there are sports games and lectures to attend for certain careers, there should be track races as well. The title of that interaction could be "Race in Competitive Event." Attendance of these events can tie into work performance from level 5 onward.
Schedules: From career levels 1-4: Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
From career levels 5-10: Wednesday-Friday, Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Race events will be Saturday and Tuesday, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Levels:
Level 1: Dedicated Spectator:
So you've got an eye for cars and an insatiable taste for racing? Well, you've gotta be patient, because there are plenty of others waiting in line for a chance. But until then, you can observe the skills and techniques of the most successful racers in the town during their practice races, time trials, and competitive events. (No skills needed for next promotion)
Level 2: Racing Fan:
Seems like you've gotten a pretty good foundation for what makes a good racer and how someone can be successful on the track. You even have a favorite racer now! You're definitely in the scene now, and although none of the racers know who you are, some of the signs you've held while in the audience have been appearing on social media. (Logic needed for next promotion)
Level 3: Racing Enthusiast:
You've got posters on your wall, T-shirts of the biggest and best racers in the scene, and a successful sense of who the winner of a race will be. You've run plenty of simulations, have a fantasy racing team put together, and you're coming off as someone who definitely knows their stuff. You've garnered respect from your fellow fans, and they've learned to trust your intuition. Some have even egged you on to get on the track yourself, but you're not so sure yet. (Logic and handiness needed for next promotion)
Level 4: Amateur Driver:
You've gained confidence from friends and fellow fans alike, and you've decided it's high time for you to get started on the track. You're still not ready to race against others, but racing against the clock is a good way to get started. Drive safe! (Logic, handiness, and athletic needed for next promotion)
Level 5: Amateur Drifter:
After countless time trials and minor accidents, you feel more than ready to enter the racing scene for real. There's no better way to get noticed than to enter the drifting scene. You've fixed up a car for yourself, and grassroots drifting events are a dime a dozen. Get out there and show them what you can do! (Logic and handiness needed for next promotion).
Level 6: Formula D Drifter:
Your record is clean. Your losses have been minimal. You are considered one of the best amateur drifters in the scene and have been approached by Formula D for a contract. Your name is becoming known by the enthusiasts of the sport, and there is talk about you being one of the most promising drivers of the season. This will be your time to shine. (Logic, handiness, athletic needed for next promotion)
Level 7: Sponsored Amateur Racer:
Your drifting technique is as clean as it gets, and your mastery of vehicular control is catching the eyes of promoters everywhere. Although drifting has been a lot of fun, you're ready for the high-octane thrill of touring. You've been approached by a promoter who is willing to provide you with everything you need, including sponsors, a vehicle, and entry into more prestigious racing events. He thinks you've got the best chance out of any of the local drivers. It's time to get your gear on and get going. (Logic, handiness, athletic needed for next promotion)
Level 8: Touring Car Racer:
Success after success after success. You have blown away the competition, and your dedicated group of fans has become even more dedicated. Your name is no longer recognized just locally, but nationally. Swaths of sponsors and promoters are coming in just to have a chance of having their brands associated with you. The idols you looked up to for so long are now racing alongside you, and some are even acquaintances. You're in the big leagues now, kid. Don't disappoint. (Logic, handiness, athletic needed for next promotion)
Level 9: Formula One Racer:
You've seen unprecedented success and support from all over the country. Your name is almost a household name for those who watch the sport. No driver has shown as much skill and mastery as you in a very long time; it's making fans excited, and other racers nervous. Touring Racing was an excellent experience all-around, but you've been advised by your racing manager to shoot even bigger. Your need for speed has moved to the highest-octane track racing, Formula One. It's time to go faster than you ever have before. It's time to leave everybody in the dust behind you. (Logic, handiness, athletic needed for next promotion)
Level 10: World-Renowned Racing Legend:
In all facets of racing, you've shown mastery: Drifting, Touring, and the Grand Prix. Your record shows next to no blemishes, and you have captivated every single person who has seen you race, friends and competition alike. Sims all around the world know who you are, and you've left a legacy unlike any racer has. Very few have reached this point, and very few ever will. You are the master of any track, and of any vehicle given to you. You are not registered or limited to a single league, but able to compete in all of them. You are a living legend. (At this point, skills should be as follows: Handiness: 10, Logic: 10, Athletic: 6.)
It is a lot, I know. But if anyone even looks at this or considers this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance!
