Hi!
I have some of your careers and I have to say I completely love them. They are usually easy to use and neatly done, and work just fine.
I've been thinking for some time that I would like my sim, who is athletic and a lot into fitness and sports, but not very much into fame (he wouldn't mind it, it's just not his main goal, he's family oriented and likes kids) that I'd like him to train / coach people into becoming athletes. The difference between trainer and a coach is, btw, that a trainer is medically trained, a coach is not. A trainer watches over the physical condition and health of the trainee, while the coach analyses the athletic skill and directs the training, fixes bad habits and makes sure the athlete is in a good mental condition and that his training is effective. And a trainer would earn more, but I'm not good with money. Either way I can imagine the first five levels for coach not be very financially rewarding.
No, I am not requesting both. I'd prefer a coach career, but it really could be either, whichever you think is better, or more fun to make. I'm also thinking that coach career would be better as a self employment, but I didn't see you making one of those yet. If not, it can be always a regular job or a profession. In either case I could see it go like this.
Coach career
Skills required: athletic, charisma.
Location: Stadium, or School, or some kind of sports court (like the pool or sports center), alternatively it could be at home, combined with the "train someone" option.
Progress: by upgrading skills, or (in case of self-employment) by the amount of successfully trained sims, or by the skill progress of those sims, or a combination of any of those (but I feel like skill increase is the best / easiest one).
Levels:
1. Backyard Coach. It's more fun to train together than alone, and you like the idea of passing on at least some of your meager skills. Besides, you can always use the extra cash. Skill level A: at least 3 (I'm not sure at what level you can train someone though, if you wanna use that); C: 2? Reward: 15 per hour? IDK. (I'm not good with money, but it's not something that would earn much.) Time: mostly afternoons, I'd say... 16-18, or 15-18, or 15-19, or 16-20, or something like that. Any day is fine, at least 3 times per week)
2. Neighborhood Fitness Guru. You've gained some name in the neighborhood for your athletic skills and the locals have been coming to you for advice on their training. Maybe you're on to something. Skills: A-4, C-4. Time, the same. Reward slightly more, but not much. Is 20 a lot? 3-4 times a week
3. Playground Coach. The locals know you very well as the nice person who is always happy to help with their training, and sometimes watches over their kids to make sure they're not up to anything bad. Their recent interest in sports is probably also due to you. Skills: A-5, C-5. 3-4 times a week, can be a weekend too, time roughly the same, but with increased hours
4. Neighborhood League Referee. Your recognition in the neighborhood has risen, and even more people from other neighborhoods have been coming to you for advice, help or a training session. You can be frequently seen organizing friendly neighborhood meets to raise the popularity in sports especially among youth. The parents couldn't be more grateful Skills: A-6, C-5. Reward: Now this could be more decent. Just barely enough to be called a pay. 3-4 times a week, including weekend, afternoons, increased hours
5. School Team Coach. You have gained a name throughout the city as the "uncle coach" and the people are starting to rely on you with their kids more and more. Skills: A-6, C-6. Reward: A bit less than a teacher would make, but fairly decent. Time: 12-16?, 12-17? sometime during school, where you'd expect a PE to be. 4 times a week, weekdays.
6. Amateur Team Coach. Recently a newly formed team has asked you to help them with their training, and thanks to you they have won their first match. It really is a feeling of accomplishment to have your hard work come to fruition. There is nothing more rewarding than watch your team win a game. Skills: A-7, C-7. Reward: This is where it would start being good. More than your average worker, plus the bonus from won games. No idea, maybe like what a team leader earns. anything between 50-80 per hour, is that much? Time: 6 hours per day at max, can include mornings from 10 to evening 18, 4-5 times a week, weekends included.
7. Minor League Coach. Your efforts have caught the attention of some important people. Now you are boasting regular hours and an official team to train. If you continue the good work more recognized team might give you an offer. The increase in paperwork is a small price to pay for that chance. Skills A-8, C-8. Starts making good money, since it's official games and all. Times roughly the same, with a significant increase in salary. This is where money is more than good.
8. U-17 Coach. With the number of victories your team got you have received an offer you simply couldn't refuse. Training teenagers might sometimes be more than a challenge, but all-in-all you are grateful for the chance to contribute to their growth. A-9, C-9. This is where money goes from good to rich.
9. Pro League Coach. Your hard work and the passion poured into the sport has paid off. A professional, ranked team has approached you and you have gained nation wide popularity as one of the best coaches that there are. The athletes respect you for your well meant advice, the people love you for your success with the athletes. Skills: A-10, C-9. This is where sim is wealthy.
10. National Team Coach. You made it. It's a long road from a simple door-to-door trainer to a renowned world class coach. You have seen failure and success, and have trained some prolific athletes, and have gained the recognition of the athletic world for your uncanny skill of leading any athlete to the hall of fame. Skills: A-10, C-10. Time: full time, something like 10-18, or somewhere between 10-22. Reward: This could be a lot. Like professional athlete level, maybe even more. IDK how much per hour this is.
A Trainer career would roughly be the same, only you'd need to change "coach to trainer" and increase the money, and instead of charisma it would need something imitating a medical skill (like logic, or science.) A trainer career could also have something to do with the hospital (though no idea what).
Levels of skill are completely pulled from my a*s and can be edited at will, if you feel it's too much. But athletic should have the priority (though, working with juveniles might require more charisma lol).
