lol, awesome! Thank you EDIT: I was just taking a look at your tutorial and airline career and I have a question instead of the usual: <Text_Promotion>promotionLevel10</Text_Promotion> <Text_Promotion_Female>PromotionLevel10_Female</Text_Promotion_Female> you have something with the branch names like: <Text_Promotion>promotionPilot10</Text_Promotion> <Text_Promotion_Female>PromotionPilot10_Female</Text_Promotion_Female> Are the branch names required at this point on both branches? As I've already designed the agent branch as I wasn't sure about he possibility to form a second branch, the Lab branch is it possible to leave the agent branch as is, thus reducing the need to redo strings and merely add the branch name to the second branch like?: <Text_Promotion>promotionLab10</Text_Promotion> <Text_Promotion_Female>PromotionLab10_Female</Text_Promotion_Female>

As far as I know, yes, the names are required. That way, the game reads the code and recognises two separate branches. I'm not sure what it'd do if one was left without the names. I mean, it's always worth experimenting and seeing what happens.

Perhaps you can give me some advice on how valid you think my results are but here goes:
So, I decided that indeed the best place to branch from would be level 5, so at promotion after Level 5 you choose either Field Agent (the original career) or Lab. On level 6-10 of the field agent branch I left it coded as originally in this format: <Text_Promotion>promotionLevel10</Text_Promotion>
<Text_Promotion_Female>PromotionLevel10_Female</Text_Promotion_Female>
However for the lab branch I coded it in this format: <Text_Promotion>promotionLab10</Text_Promotion>
<Text_Promotion_Female>PromotionLab10_Female</Text_Promotion_Female>
Well the current character I was playing in the career was level 6 of the original career (now Field Agent branch). It turns out loading the game showed no errors but the breaking into branches and then replacing the original file with the updated file caused the game to think the original career no longer/never existed and so my sim was unemployed. So, to avoid all that time over I used Master Controller to set my sim back to Level 6 of what would now be the Field Agent branch and afterward my sim was promoted just as always with outfits, carpools, promotion texts and all just the same. I have a second sim from the household that has joined the career but has yet to get to the branch decision. Once I got the idea for the other branch, I decided to hold this sim off specifically to test the Lab branch out. So, while technically not having seen the branch selection or testing the lab branch it seems to be going smoothly so far. I would assume that as long as the second branch has a unique name that makes it easy to identify from the first branch it will work. What do you think, does that seem reasonable? I'll let you know with how things go with the Lab Branch sim when he gets to the branch option and a promotion to level 7 to tell for sure.

Sounds reasonable to me and it sounds like it's working. Fingers are crossed it stays that way! I agree, it does make sense that at least one branch has a unique ID, so the code can differentiate between the two.

Well, my Sim intended for the Lab branch just got the 'Which Branch Do you Choose' message and it worked properly so did the message about the first level of Lab Branch, Level 6, so it looks like as long as one of the branches has a distinguishing name in the promotion text line it'll work fine as well
