Is there a way to give them a reward like some game careers? I've tried the line about giving a forensic DNA analyzer branch of cops getting rewarded a laptop but it wasn't rewarded in my career. Any ideas?

If you use the OmniCareer class name, you can use the Promotional Reward Data Twallan mentions Here.

So, I change it to <FullClassName>NRaas.Gameplay.Careers.OmniCareer, NRaasCareer</FullClassName>
and change <PromotionRewardData>ComputerLaptop</PromotionRewardData> to <OmniPromotionalRewardData>0x000000000000040F</OmniPromotionalRewardData> to give a laptop like that?
Is it possible to give the raid the criminals (like a secret agent) simply by saying <OmniPromotionalRewardData>RaidCriminals</OmniPromotionalRewardData> ?

Yes to the first. I haven't used it personally yet, but it's certainly worth trying out. As for the second, I would imagine so. Definitely give it a try and see what happens!

As a bit of update on the situ.,
<OmniPromotionalRewardData>0x000000000000040F</OmniPromotionalRewardData> did indeed give the laptop reward.
However for the raid the criminals (like a secret agent) simply by saying <OmniPromotionalRewardData>RaidCriminals</OmniPromotionalRewardData> was NOT successful in my first test with that line introduced it wouldn't appear at chosen level. When I asked for a little more clarity on the issue from Nraas chatterbox and was told "... scenario's such as you have described 'RaidCriminal' is highly unlikely as its an unknown scenario within the Core." So, it looks like things like that are impossible as is rewarding custom content or store items. Thought everyone might be interested in knowing the result.

Thank you for the update! As far as I know, EP content can't be given as rewards, unless this has changed since I tried it a couple of years ago with the Comic Books.

You're welcome, I thought it would help somebody maybe. Well, they said EP items aren't supported yet but are on the list, so maybe some day.

We'll keep fingers crossed. It's always worth having a look at the base game careers in s3pe and seeing what the code is for the career rewards. Maybe that would support EP content?

I attempted that but had no success, even with items. It appears from my experimentation so far that base game items can be awarded with the proper instance number, absolutely no life time rewards - base game or otherwise, hidden traits appear to work at least for base game (such as CanSalute to give the ability to salute) I'm still experimenting to learn if non base game hidden traits such as ImmunetoFire to make a Siim and their descendants fireproof. Thats my results so far, I'll update later with non base game hidden traits test result.

Thanks for the update. It is quite frustrating that this doesn't work so well. There's a lot I'd have loved to have added as career rewards, but most of them have been EP items

Thanks for the update. It is quite frustrating that this doesn't work so well. There's a lot I'd have loved to have added as career rewards, but most of them have been EP items You are welcome. Yes it is frustrating and certainly altered a few plans I had for my current career and a few future ones I had in mind. There are certainly a number of EP items that would be useful as rewards such as a science table for my Fringe Division (from the science fiction mystery crime show 'Fringe' which is sort of a science related crime show but also much more) would have been awesome at one level but as its from Generations thats impossible also good would've been certain lifetime rewards like say Fast Learner on the Lab Assistant level where you're basically supposed to be working with the world's top Fringe scientist and so therefore learning from him or perhaps he could've ran an experiment on you right after promotion that made you learn faster, I hadn't really decided but now there's no point Also when you reach Special Agent, VERY similar to the game's Secret Agent/International Super Spy, I'd loved to have been able to give the same ability to raid criminal warehouses which make perfect sense in the shows theme like on the first episode when Olivia and her partner basically raid a storage warehouse type deal where a science criminal is storing several deadly chemicals that in combination basically kill you like it almost did her partner till their Fringe scientist Walter got the info he needed to make a cure. But... we must work within limitations so, compromise is, of course, inevitable. But at least I've tested the boundaries a bit (ironically a major theme in the show) and defined the limits a lot better while working on my Fringe career and have certainly learnt more than I hoped I could on my first career attempt. Also on that topic, I have a bit more update to add. The results of my hidden traits test shows that they do indeed work. I was told however and pointed to a list of Hidden Traits names in-game that show ImmunetoFire is base game. Basically the only non base game hidden traits which anyone might want would be the cultural hidden traits of World Adventures. I have, however, not tested them as I can't exactly see them being used as a reward for any of the careers I have in my mind and honestly don't expect many others to either. Thats my results. I do have a few new questions though on another subject. Is there a way to actually specify what level the job boss you have to get in good with is? I foresee level 10 as the boss yet, oddly, the boss is always level 5 and as you don't become boss until level 10 for 4 levels you're boss in lower than you... that a bit weird but if there's no way then it's a limitation I'll compromise with. Also, is it possible to branch off a career, given the current limitations, as I'm considering branching off onto an Agent branch (basically what we have currently) and a Lab branch (Not to mention it'll be perfect for another career I have in mind)? If it is how do you do that? I know it'll require more strings to be added and some coding some where but what coding and where or if possible is unknown to me.

For the Boss, you can decide for each level if you want a Boss. So for your top levels, you can put 'false' in for Boss. So if you put <HasBoss>True</HasBoss> for the lower levels, but <HasBoss>False</HasBoss> for the higher ones, that would work out. I mean, the boss would still be at level 5 (as far as I'm aware) but you wouldn't have a boss for the levels set to False. I do apologise if that's waffle. And yes, you can do split levels! I've done two split level careers; my Airline Career and my Teaching Career. If you want to open them up and peek at the coding, you're more than welcome. But it's quite easy to do. I've had a bit of a thought about these rewards. For your career, have you thought about using the Law Enforcement Career's scripting class? So instead of using the OmniCareer, have this: <FullClassName>Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.LawEnforcement, Sims3GameplaySystems</FullClassName> I wonder if that might give the RaidCriminal reward you're looking for. I've done something similar with my Sports Careers but with the Athletic class to use the Game Record. It also ended up including the autograph signing at the stadium and be worshipped by other sims. All things the Sports career has (who knew? ). So I'm thinking that you might get the rewards you're after by working it that way? And that might help out with some of the rewards, who knows?

LOL, thats one way to do it I guess Thanks as soon as I get the branch idea on the Lab side more solidified I'll take a look and see if I can get it set up right Does it work even with the omnicareer script class? And does the split have to come after level 5 or can it say at level 4, or 7, or elsewhere? Yeah, you'd think that would work but I believe I tried that at one point... well, I'm not entirely sure now for a while I struggled at this on my own so it was rocky and I tried lots of things so I'm not sure. Oh well, I've kind of made up for it right now (depending on how a player would choose to use their abilities I guess) so I'll settle, lol.

Well, do give a shout if you hit any problems with the split branching. I can write up a tutorial for you, if you wanted? The split can be anywhere you like and you don't have to use the omni career for the split branching to work, but I see no reason why it won't work. Fair enough. It's quite annoying that this hasn't been updated yet, isn't it?

A tutorial would be nice if you have time so I'm sure not to miss any strings to add or any lines of code Yeah it is annoying. I wish they would up date it.
