So I'm always looking to improve my careers and this is something I'd very much like to know. What would you like to see more of in my careers? You can select up to three answers in the poll but if you think of anything else you'd like to see, let me know in this thread

Hi, first, thank you so much for your careers and apprenticeships! I use them all the time! They add so much variation to the game. I have a question. Some of the careers would definitely require a university degree in real life and I was wondering if the uni degrees could be included. So, for example, you would start at a higher level of the veterinary degree if you had a Science degree. Possibly one would also add the Science skill to it. If that seems like a lot of work (and it does sound like a lot of work to me), could you tell me how that would work? I've never modded before but I'm willing to try if I get some pointers as to where I should look in the mods to begin with. I assume it would also require adding the the other uni skills to the careers. I'm also using shiorysm's UL degree benefits mod that changes some of the alignments of the degrees with the careers, maybe I could modify this mod to include your custom careers? I would ask for permission first, of course, but I would also need some pointers how I would do that. Thanks!

This is actually very simple to do. I'll have time tomorrow to write out a proper tutorial for you, but yes, you'd need to tweak the Uni Benefits degree mod to include my custom careers, using the GUIDs in the .package file of each degree. In the morning, I'll get some proper instructions written for you! I do have a WIP mod for this, but it's still in testing Welcome to the forum!

Oh wow, that would be incredible! Thank you so much! I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. I won't have time to actually do it in the next month (travel for work, visitors coming) but I when I get to it in July, I will keep you updated on how it goes. So, no rush!

I've included my mod in testing for you to try when you have the time. I don't use any mods that edit the degrees at all, so I've got no idea if there's a conflict of any kind. But maybe you could try it out for me? I should be able to get the tutorial written up hopefully this afternoon for you. If not, should be tomorrow

Ok, so far, your mod does not throw a conflict with shiorysm's mod in Dashboard. I'm off to testing your mod now. Wish me luck!
ETA: So far, your mod doesn't seem to affect your custom careers. I assigned a degree via MC and the regular way.
Next time I get to playing again, I'll take out shiorysm's mod to see if that had any effect.

Thanks for testing! It's always good to have it tested on other systems, so thanks!

I could help test and give you feedback. Since they are both tuning mods though if one is showing up and the other isn't that usually shows a conflict. Weird if didn't show up in Delphys though. I'll try it out too.
