I often find actually writing down my plans tends to provide me with the necessary motivation to actually see them through So my plan today is the re-write the basic Career creating tutorial, incorporating the necessary amendments. If I finish that today, then I might poke around with the Custom Degrees a bit more.

Oh yes I need to focus, I keep losing what I was about to do xD Still need to take a look at my mod, then read through the basic career tutorial. Maybe I will dust the old notes I had made for a career project some time ago and try it.

I have some time free (although I guess I should finish the dishes... can't I send one of my sims?), I will try reading your tutorial, but it would probably be easier to understand if I could experiment at the same time. Weekends are not the best time for me to do much sims-related. Have you managed to find the motivation to poke?

Alas, no. I ended up getting a town set up to use to test the careers It was semi-related, so I still achieved something today!

Wait, custom degrees? Is that even a thing?! As for me, can't promise anything. I've got homework to do and my sister will probably want to play herself. But if I've got time I might try to learn to translate a career. Is that a suitable beginner project or do I need to actually learn to do stuff first? I've opened S3PE, made simple XML edits (as in making easy mods, merging two mods into one, etc.) and translated a mod. But besides that my experience is nil.

They're not yet, but if I get my way they will be Translating is a great way to start

Laura, the worse difficulty in translating is not to mess up in your own language... I wasn't even sure if what I wrote was actually french after a while :o
-bangs head- I HAD updated my weather stone mod, months ago!! Hey I'm not THAT bad after all!! ... just very forgetful v.v
So why wasn't it working correctly in my game anymore? xD
So anyway, I won't have time to play today, I might as well work on those recolors Missy.

Yes, me too actually, I was starting to fear for my sanity as I know I checked if they were all up to date I actually made a custom rug for the Mage Guild. So... now I will have to BUILD a Mage Guild, and I kinda suck at that, so hooray for me! xD Okay, I can't test it before tonight, so I might as well work on your recolors. I will let you know how that went

I know that feeling. I create a career and think "Dammit, now I have to BUILD an office for it!" I'm hoping to find a good way to link the custom careers to the University Degrees. There's no particular field available for it in the career files (it was on Twallan's to-do list before he retired and the new guys haven't had the time to implement it as yet). Quoted from The List on NRassNow Twallan did create the Education Career and he did assign them to the Active Careers. So I'm going to test and see if maybe, he did implement a <Degree> field and just forgot to mention it If not, I can create a mod, and have done, but it's going to conflict with the University Degree Tweaks and the UL Benefits mod and I don't know how many people use either of those.

I did see your post, I thought I would think about it and poke in files. It's still a 'bit' advanced for me

Oh I don't mind doing the poking. I'm just debating what's going to be the easiest way of doing things

Sadly the easiest isn't always the best way Okay tonight I will try to see if my game still starts I am not so sure But I might try right now to start on your tutorial, I actually have some time before I can start the game. Aaaand I don't feel too much like doing recolors. Can't even say it's because I'm lazy, making a career is harder
