Hi there everybody. Apologies for the long absence, it's not been intentional. Thankfully, I'm back now and I'm interested in opinions. During my hiatus from the net, I started working on Opportunities for my careers. I've got them working perfectly and I'll be updating each of my existing careers with new Opportunities in the coming weeks, as well as providing opportunities with all new careers I'll be uploading very soon. That being said, I'm always keen to hear what you all have to say. Some of you know the subject matter of some of the careers better than I do and might have some ideas for opportunities for some of the careers. So I've opened this thread for everyone to add their thoughts. A note though: Please don't suggest opportunities for careers that are not mine. I can't do anything about that, you'd need to talk to the creators. Only suggest opportunities for careers I've made. Looking forward to your thoughts, feelings and suggestions

Technically, this is part request, part question.
How do you do events like the food fight in the culinary career. They're set up differently than opportunities I know that much.
A request though is career transfer opportunity.

I've been experimenting with the Career Transfer opportunities. I've also been working with some requiring a sim from another custom career but they haven't worked for me as yet. I'm wondering if the game has trouble with the <altguid> with opportunities. Still working with it though, so I'll let you know. Thanks for the suggestion!
As for the events, I believe they're coded inside the .CareerEvents file. From what I've seen, they're pretty straightforward. This is the code for the Food Fight event in the Culinary career: It looks to me like the key to this type of event is the <EventName> field. It looks like it contains a 'class' for different events: Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.Career+EventChoice, Sims3GameplaySystems Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.Career+EventReward, Sims3GameplaySystems Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.Criminal+GetArrested, Sims3GameplaySystems Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.Culinary+EventGetFood, Sims3GameplaySystems Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.Journalism+FreeAdvice, Sims3GameplaySystems
And these seems to be the classes for the Career transfer: Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.LawEnforcement+TransferToMilitaryCareer, Sims3GameplaySystems Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.LawEnforcement+TransferToMedicalCareer, Sims3GameplaySystems Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.LawEnforcement+TransferToAthleticCareer, Sims3GameplaySystems Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.Military+TransferToScienceCareer, Sims3GameplaySystems Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.Military+TransferToLawEnforcementCareer, Sims3GameplaySystems
etc. There are a fair few others in the CareerEvents XML in the GameplayData.package. However, Twallan included some for the OmniCareer: NRaas.Gameplay.OmniSpace.Events.EventChoice, NRaasCareer NRaas.Gameplay.OmniSpace.Events.EventReward, NRaasCareer
He's also got examples of the Events in the Mobster Career, including the Strings to use in the UnhashedKeys STBL, so I'd take a look there and try something out. I haven't had a try with Events yet but when I do, if I get some working, I'll write up a tutorial for them. But for now, this stuff could be food for thought.

Looking at that mobster example I made a career transfer work, only problem is I got the unhashed string as the text to show up and I tried working on that several times, any ideas?

That's odd. Have you got a screenshot of the text? What part is the unhashed text?

I don't have a screenshot, but all that show sup is the unhashed text on the top along with the accept, decline buttons.

Double checked the language strings to make sure there's no typo? Any script errors generated? Without seeing that, or your career package, it's hard to say what might be causing it.

Yup, I double checked for typos, matter of a fact I even double checked the FNV number. No script errors generated. I could PM you the file if you'd like.

Thought you probably would have done. If you don't mind, that'd be great. I can't for the life of me work out what that could be but seeing the package might switch the lightbulb on over my head
